Summary

The chapter opens at a small concert venue—a converted church with antique pendant lights and arched windows—where Molly, Cora, and Alex have come to watch Natalie perform. The space is intimate, holding maybe a hundred people, and the atmosphere is electric. Cora is dressed in a blue floral dress and dances enthusiastically, while Molly tries to focus on the music but finds herself distracted by Alex, who has been ignoring her all night. Alex's attention is fixed on Natalie onstage, and the two seem to share a private connection, as if every lyric is meant only for Alex.
