Arrival at the Grisha Camp

The story opens with Eryk recovering from a severe injury, questioned by the Ulle (the camp leader) and Annika's father. His mother gave him a new name—Eryk—to fit in with the local Fjerdan-influenced population. They are Grisha, people with magical abilities, and they must hide their true identities to survive.
