Heavenly Tyrant opens with a content warning and a clarification that the story is futuristic science fiction, not historical fiction, despite drawing inspiration from Chinese historical figures. In Chapter One, Zetian flies the Yellow Dragon into the Xihuang Desert, searching for the Heavenly Court. Zetian plans the Phoenix Alliance, a women-centered nonprofit funded independently.
